About the Department
The Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS Program, Care2Prevent, in thesection of Pediatric Infectious Diseases provides comprehensivetreatment and prevention services for people living with HIV and thosewho are most vulnerable to HIV infection. Job Summary
The Engagement Specialist will manage Care2Prevent\'s peer supportprogramming. This individual will help to design and implement weeklysupport group programming, including inviting guest speakers, puttingtogether training opportunities, and arranging therapeutic,entertainment, and other support group activities. They will also helpfacilitate individual peer support meetings and work with clients. Thisindividual will be responsible for client relations and will ensureclient feedback and ideas are solicited and shared with the broaderteam. This position requires strong communication skills and the abilityto document work in administrative databases.
This at-will position is wholly funded by contractual grant fundingwhich is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the contract.Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these grantfunds and satisfactory job performance.
Responsibilities
Assist with the planning and facilitation of regular peer supportgroups.Work with community partners to publicize Care2Prevent programmingand to build attendance in support groups and other Care2Preventcommunity programs.Document and report attendance record and content history.Participate in team outreach and community engagement activities andevents.Design and distribute flyers and other communication messages toparticipants and community at large both in-person and online.Build an online presence for Care2Prevent programs.Support community outreach activities, disseminating informationabout HIV/STI services and testing events. through social media,community-based outreach, peer recruitment, network recruitment, andother channels.Increase community and client engagement in events and otherappropriate programming.Manage events calendar for program, including annual events such asWorld AIDS Day, Long-Term Survivor and annual BBQ.Oversee collection of client feedback, which may include clientsurveys and/or a Community Advisory Board.Assist with HIV/STI testing events in the community, includingnotification and reporting.Help implement client engagement activities in clinic, which mayrequire work after normal business hours.Coordinates special projects as directed by the leader. Prepareswrite-ups for recommendations for operational and administrativeproblems. Prepares financial and/or administrative reports.Triages emails and telephone calls for action. Resolves mostlyroutine and some complex inquiriesPerforms other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or theequivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have afour-year degree).
