TITLE: Case Coordinator, Case Management, YOU BOSTON (Employee Service Contractor)
DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: YOU Boston, OWD
PAY RATE: $27/hr (up to 35hrs/week)
SUMMARY:
As part of the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (OWD), Youth Options Unlimited Boston (YOU Boston) is a youth development program that specializes in providing case management services and career development opportunities to Boston-area teens and young adults.
A Case Coordinator supports the services provided by YOU’s Case Management Department by obtaining information and completing tasks related to recruiting and onboarding new clients. This position requires direct client interaction, persistence, and attention to detail. Instead of managing a caseload, this position will streamline processes to ensure youth are documented, contracted, met with and offered a chance to participate and thrive through YOU’s programming.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage incoming referrals from various sources- website, direct email and, less commonly, telephone and fax.
Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement new processes to increase engagement and retention of new clients.
Send payroll documents to new referrals.
Follow up with new referrals on their paperwork submission.
Ensure new referrals are payroll ready and submit all documentation.
Follow up with referral partners regarding their referrals as needed.
Enter intake documents and information onto central database.
Assist in the recruitment and outreach effort for YOU Boston with existing and new partners.
Schedule and conduct intake appointments with new referrals.
Diligently follow up on administrative tasks and communicate updates to the team in an efficient and reliable manner.
Perform other administrative support duties as required.
Support Career Development and Case Management team as needed.
Communicate and build effective relationships with all YOU Boston staff and OWD staff as needed
Research new local organizations and institutions from which we could identify new clients.
Support with cohort placements for each cohort cycle.
Review cohort leader evaluations to determine cohort cycle interest.
Send a cohort questionnaire and follow up with returning participants for each new cohort cycle.
Send cohort rosters to Cohort Leaders and follow up for any issues that arise.
Continue to place cohort participants as new spots open.
Aid in agency marketing efforts as appropriate (email campaigns, tabling, community outreach, school outreach)
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree or work toward a degree in a related field such as social work, psychology, sociology, human services, or a similar discipline. Previous experience in youth development programs, case management, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in data entry, referral management, and administrative support. Experience working with at-promise teens and young. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups. Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements. Ability to research and identify new local organizations and institutions for client recruitment. Understanding of the challenges faced by teens and young adults in urban settings.
Experience in supporting outreach efforts, including email campaigns, tabling, community outreach, and school outreach.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal office environment. Hybrid work schedule at this time but not guaranteed in the future.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Little or no exertion; some local travel.
