About the Role:
Provides nursing coordination and care of Employee Health and Occupational Services to Employees within the organization. This includes prevention, recognition, treatment, and education of illness and injury. Responsible for organizing and coordinating the activities of Vitra's Employee Health and Worker's Compensation programs. The employee health nurse is a key member of the organization and collaborates across the different teams within the organization to ensure compliance in Clinical and Professional Standards to include new and annual training.

Employee Health Essential Functions:
• Leads organizational efforts for prevention, recognition, treatment, and education of illness and injury.
• Maintains excellent communication skills and processes to all employees.
• Responsible for developing, organizing, and coordinating Vitra Health's Employee Health and Safety Programs.
• Develops and/or maintains and audits the employee health medical records to ensure compliance with all governing bodies, employee confidentiality, and feedback to management, in compliance with government regulation and policy.
• Provides Pre-employment screenings of new hires to determine compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
• Maintain Employee health files in accordance with Regulation 130 CMR 408.000 and any other licensure or governing bodies.
• Support Vitra Health's Medical Surveillance Programs in cooperation with Human Resources.
• Provide guidance regarding Standard Precautions Policies and Procedures.
• Establish and implement infection control and employee health orientation programs, in collaboration with leadership and Human Resources.
• Performs Tuberculosis Risk Assessments and/or TB Skin Testing screening for employees as indicated.
• Works closely with infection control policies and procedures for all employees including during outbreak management exposures and provides appropriate reporting.
• Conduct risk assessments at least annually and as needed with consideration of populations, regional vulnerabilities relevant statistical data, and new and emerging infectious diseases.
• Maintains proper storage and distribution of PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT) as needed.
• Organize and oversee Policy/Procedure for drug testing if indicated by company policy.
• Support Vitra Health's Return to Work Policies as a member of the Human Resources team.
• Provide guidance for Policies and Procedures related to employee and occupational health.
• Collaborate with Worker's Compensation designee to assess the employee's continuous medical needs and schedule follow up care as appropriate; ensure necessary documentation is completed and given to the appropriate parties.
• Participate in Employee Wellness Initiatives in cooperation with Human Resources by providing a positive culture of wellbeing.
• Maintains accurate employee records of necessary and required certifications.
• Provide education and opportunities for health promotion to employees in cooperation with Human Resources and accepted Professional Standards of Vitra Health, Inc.
• Identifies need for change in departmental policies and procedures; makes recommendations in alignment to best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards and procedures that relate to infection control, employee health, OSHA, and employee safety.
• Manage annual and new hire education compliance, as well as files to demonstrate such.
• Current understanding of all state and fed compliance for employee health and training/education requirements.
• Foster culture of customer service and commitment to quality care.
• Serve as a brand ambassador for Vitra reflecting our vision, mission, and values.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Graduate of an approved school of nursing, RN, or LPN
• Current RN or LPN licensure in MA in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, and certified to instruct CPR.
• 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in Occupational Health, infection control practice, or emergency care nursing.
• Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and other software programs.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills including Interpersonal and Organizational.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
• Understanding and commitment to Confidentiality; PHI (Protected Healthcare Information) and HIPAA (HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY & ACCOUNTABILITY ACT).
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures governing employee health and infection prevention.
• Knowledge of blood/body fluid post-exposure management protocols, tuberculin skin testing, respiratory fit testing, post offer drug screening, hepatitis B, and measles and flu immunization practices.
• Knowledge of Worker's Compensation, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), CDC (Centers for Disease Control), and MDPH guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to work with, lead and supervise others.
Ability to manage multiple assignments/projects; meet timelines and prioritize responsibility.
• Possess skills in independent decision making, problem-solving, independent nursing judgment, and communication.
• Ability to maintain calm in stressful situations which involve difficult or demanding circumstances.
