Summary You will serve as a Emergency Services Dispatcher in the Emergency Dispatch Center (EDC) within the Provost Marshal's Office (PMO) of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below. Responsibilities You will evaluate 911 emergency calls, proper determination of the problem and nature of the call, prioritization of the call, and identifying the level and type of response. You will maintain logs, forms, and status of security/fire personnel on duty and availability via CAD system. You will be responsible for proper radio communication necessary to ensure accurate dispatch and effective coordination of emergency response units You will initiate an immediate, appropriate, emergency response and provide the caller with life support instructions. You will provide Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Police Dispatch (EDP) and Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) care/assistance through pre-arrival instructions to callers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Screening incoming communications and prioritizing emergency/non-emergency calls and situations; 2) Maintaining logs, forms and status of security/fire personnel; 3) Performing personnel backgrounds inquiries and examinations; and 4) Updating information for medical, police, and fire personnel.\ GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: -The incumbent will be required to take medical examinations to assess his/her/their medical qualifications for duty involving work with exposure to high levels of stress present, have color vision adequate to distinguish between green, red, and yellow lights on alarm and equipment controls panels and to read information from a multicolored computer screen and have adequate hearing for voice and tone. -Position is subject to work uncommon hours, rotational shifts, including requirements to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work shift work and rotational duty. -Overtime will be occasionally required. Night differential and/or unusual duty hours will be regularly required. -This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. - Must be able to perform duties in an effective, efficient, and professional manner in a group setting. -Incumbent will be required to complete all training requirements listed in the United States Marine Corps Emergency Dispatch Services Training Strategy to maintain emergency services dispatcher qualifications and certifications to include but not limited to: FEMA NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 Telecommunicator I/II CPR/AED certification Certification to operate required federal Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) such as NCIC Hazardous Material Awareness Foundations, Emergency Medical Dispatch, Fire Service Dispatch and Law Enforcement.
