POSITION SUMMARY:
Responds to emergency and crisis calls from clients, families, lawenforcement and other referral sources
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responds and provides assessment and intervention services to individualsexperiencing behavioral health emergencies/crises during all scheduled shifts.Follows agency standards of practice, policies and procedures regardingbehavioral health crisis responsesWorks with individuals, families, law enforcement and other agencies tocoordinate appropriate level of care in crisis and emergency situationsCoordinates with specified authorizing agencies to determine necessity ofinpatient treatmentObtains required authorizations prior to arranging inpatient treatmentWorks as a team member providing back-up coverage; establishing monthlyon-call schedules; providing clinical expertise in areas of interest, andsupporting overall crisis intervention servicesProvides coverage of fifteen (15) 24-hour shifts per monthDocuments all emergency calls in the center's electronic health record andcommunicates to team members as required for Continuity of CarePlaces high value on customer service to individuals in crisis as well asreferral sourcesCompletes paperwork for involuntary hospitalizations as applicable,including required 27-65 CRS documentation, in a timely and accurate mannerArranges transportation to in-patient settings when needed and obtainsauthorizations when needed from specified agenciesProvides emergency support and evaluations for CMHC clinical staffPerforms outreach calls in conjunction with other providers, case managersand law enforcementAssists with Continuity of Care duties as neededAttends all agency and professional trainings as assignedAttends supervision and team meetings as scheduledPerforms other job duties as assigned
RequirementsEDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or relatedclinical discipline
EXPERIENCE:
Documented experience in crisis intervention, assessment, and managementin either outpatient, residential, or inpatient setting.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (if applicable for licensed position)
Requires a license in the State of Colorado as a LPC, LMFT or LCSW
