FTE: 0.900000 Shift: Shift 3 Job Summary: Under thesupervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician(ED Tech) performs routine service duties and basic nursing proceduresnecessary to provide for care, comfort, and safety of patients in theEmergency and Trauma Center. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 yearof previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), MedicalAssistant, or Emergency Medical Technician is required. A minimum of 1year of EMT experience is preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High Schooldiploma or equivalent is required. Incumbents employed with FroedtertHealth hired prior to October 1, 2007, may substitute this educationalrequirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write andcommunicate complicated verbal and written communications at a levelnormally acquired through completion of a high school education.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical TechnicianLicense, certified Medical Assistant (in lieu of Medical AssistantCertification, 3 years of experience required), or State of WisconsinNursing Assistant Certification is required. American Heart Association(AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHAapproved equivalent is required to be completed within 30 days.
