FTE: 0.600000 Shift: Shift 4 Job Summary: Under the supervision ofa Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech)performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessaryto provide for care, comfort, and safety of patients in the Emergencyand Trauma Center. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Aminimum of 1 year of previous experience as a Certified NursingAssistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician isrequired. A minimum of 1 year of EMT experience is preferred. EDUCATIONDESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Incumbentsemployed with Froedtert Health hired prior to October 1, 2007 maysubstitute this educational requirement with the following statement -Ability to read, write and communicate complicated verbal and writtencommunications at a level normally acquired through completion of a highschool education. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin EmergencyMedical Technician License, certified Medical Assistant (in lieu ofMedical Assistant Certification, 3 years of experience required), orState of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required. AmericanHeart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider(BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required to be completed within30 days.
