Your Role: What you'll be doingThe ULA team is working on products that will change how we think about spaceflight. Are you ready to join our highly talented team to build, test, andlaunch embedded software solutions and pioneer the next generation of softwarecapabilities? In this role, you:
Architects, designs, develops, implements, verifies, and testsalgorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance,navigation, and control of launch vehicles and upper stages during poweredand coast phases of launch, flight, earth orbit, interplanetarycruise, and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events.
Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured datapoints and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve adesired position, orientation, or orbit in space.
Control design and analysis processes consist of the development of thecontrol laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles.
Responsible for developing new software products, implementing modernsoftware design principles, resolving complex technical problems, andproviding solutions that are innovative and ingenious.
You will be expected to understand and implement with minimal guidance anddirection. Also, will coach new engineers on technical concepts andproblem-solving techniques.
Will be responsible for refining requirements, designing subsystems,developing code units, and performing integration, test, andverification of flight software.
Will work with a highly collaborative team in an Agile environment.
Engage with Product Owners, Technology Architects, QA, and/orAutomation team members on cross-functional activities to design, develop,and test cutting-edge software solutions.
Your Background: What education and experience you'll needRequires a bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of experience; advanceddegrees are typically preferred at this level.

A Bachelor's degree in Software, Aerospace, Mechanical, ElectricalEngineering, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)or related technical field from an accredited college or university.Four years of directly related exempt work experience may be used to satisfythe bachelor's degree requirement.Experience with C and C++ programmingExperience with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel,PowerPoint, and Outlook)Experience with Matlab/SimulinkReal-time, 6 degree-of-freedom, motion simulation experienceExperience with implementing Kalman filters
