  Description

  Maritime Operations within Mission Technologies - Nuclear & Environmental Services, is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer 2 to join the team in Newport News, VA.

  Electro-Mechanical Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical and mechanical systems and devices. They use their knowledge of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles to create products that integrate both disciplines. Their work will involve engineering and technical support related to the construction, testing and operations of propulsion and reactor plant components. They also use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools to create detailed plans and specifications for construction. Additionally, they may be involved in testing and troubleshooting systems to ensure they function correctly and meet performance standards.

  What You Will Do

  This role is responsible for synthesizing customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  You will develop and direct the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules to ensure the completion of systems.

  Additionally, you will coordinate integrated testing activities and review and evaluate test requirements to ensure the completeness of the test program.

  This role will also involve performing technical analysis of complete systems and preparing comprehensive system level evaluations.

  This role involves frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.

  The role requires the ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity.

  Work is reviewed to ensure sound technical judgment, overall adequacy, and accuracy.

  The role operates under general supervision and contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.

  Failure to achieve results or inadequate work product may cause delays in program schedules and allocation of additional resources, but should be detected by supervisory oversight.

  This role primarily involves internal company contacts, with infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

  What You Must Have

  Candidate is required to have either:

  Two (2) years relevant experience with a Bachelors in a related field;

  Or zero (0) years relevant experience with a Masters in a related field.

  Candidate must have successfully completed an undergraduate Engineering degree or related field from an ABET accredited program.

  Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

  Bonus Points For ...

  US Navy nuclear propulsion plant experience.Physical Requirements

  May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
