  Description:

  International Paper, Barrington, NJ is looking for an Electrician - Class A for our Corrugated Box Plant.

  General Responsibilities:

  Work with Maintenance Supervisor and Lead to establish and resolve electrical maintenance issues.

  Work with equipment and systems related to corrugation and corrugate printing, motors, lighting systems, control circuits, pumps, VFDs, PLCs and balers.

  Provide a level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, servicing, project estimation of materials and labor hours, as well as documenting the electrical modifications and changes.

  Effectively communicate with the site management team and customer to understand requirements, solve electrical problems and provide solutions to manufacturing problems.

  Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical equipment and control circuits from 24V up to and including 480V AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs/ladder logic controllers and variable frequency drives as necessary.

  Respond to service calls, conducts Root Cause Analysis and take necessary corrective actions.

  Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis (two-minute rule) and lockout/tagout procedures and utilizes PPE as required.

  Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

  Demonstrate flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of operations.

  Perform electrical and/or mechanical maintenance as required to support plant daily operations and new projects.

  Assist other mechanics in the support of plant operations, as needed.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Meet qualifications for class A Maintenance Electrician. Must be licensed to perform electrical work in NJ.

  5 years electrical maintenance experience.

  PLC ability trainable with limited assistance to resolve minor faults, make document program changes, troubleshoot components I/O card racks and processors, restore lost programs and create backups and coordinate for external support required.

  Ability to read and draw basic mechanical and electrical drawings as well as process flow diagrams.

  Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.

  Experienced in pulling and marking wires.

  Able to bend and install conduit.

  Able to use appropriate test equipment (Amprobe, megger, multi meter, etc.)

  Specific Responsibilities:

  Safety - 100% compliance with all International Paper safety standards including but not limited to: LOTO, PIV safety, electrical safety and machine guarding. If a current employee, must have a good safety record.

  Good Manufacturing Practices: 100% compliance with all safety and International Paper GMP Barrington policies and procedures.

  Quality and Housekeeping: Accountable for ensuring that all work areas being utilized are kept in neat and orderly manner.

  Team Work: Employee will be working with employees from various departments in the facility and must work to foster teamwork across the facility.

  Other/Physical: Ability to operate a fork lift and lift pallet jack. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must have the ability to work with exposure to marked changes in temperature, wet conditions, dusty conditions, and must have the ability to bend, stoop, squat, push/pull, reach above the shoulder, crouch, climb a ladder and use both hands for grasping. Also must own your own tools. Must take a written maintenance assessment. If current employee, must have good attendance.
