Electrical Journeyman Bloomington, MN, USA Req #70 Monday, January 22, 2024 PURPOSE:To ensure guests to Mall of America have a positive shopping and entertainment experience. To lead and oversee team of electrical maintenance workers on preventive maintenance and service of electrical equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Lead team of electrical maintenance workers on preventive maintenance and repairs of all MOA and Park electrical equipment. Train all electrical department team members. Ensure completion of tasks and projects assigned to Electrical Department in a timely and efficient manner, and supply feedback and documentation to Electrical Supervisor. Respond to emergency calls concerning electrical systems, life/fire safety systems, water, gas, and electrical utilities and take corrective action as needed. Responsible for setup of electrical needs and requirement to support Mall of America promotional events and marketing projects. Responsible for on-site leadership of annual switch gear maintenance. This requires team lead to work 3rd shift for this 6 - 8week period. Evaluate inventory of current supplies and equipment, make recommendations on upgrading supplies and equipment needed to successfully complete the job. Ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area as well as surrounding areas. Provide outstanding internal and external guest service. Assist Electrical Supervisor with documentation and information concerning supply and inventories. Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and new techniques to streamline tasks. Perform maintenance, service and repairs on all Mall of America electrical equipment including, but not limited to the following: lighting, service panels, motors, controls, electrical switch gear, electrical distribution systems, outlets and displays. Ability to utilize building automation system to handle engineering department calls. Assist other departments including building maintenance, housekeeping and others with tasks as needed. Regular, reliable and consistent attendance Additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: State of MN class A Journeyman License. One to two years of trade school in related field and/or 4- 6 years of related work experience in electrical system repair and maintenance. Working Knowledge of Microsoft office applications required. Successful leadership skills in electrical maintenance team environment. Working knowledge of the safe handling and operation of equipment and tools related with electrical repair and maintenance. Ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems. Ability to take charge during emergency situations and make repairs and responsible decisions in a timely matter. PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Understanding of Life Safety systems. Working knowledge of BMS systems. Experience in other areas of building repair and maintenance. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
