  Job Description

  AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to be based in Cleveland, OH or Columbus, OH

  This position is expected to begin as soon as possible but, no later than May 2024.

  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.

  Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives.

  Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

  Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study

  Design new and modifications to existing medium and low voltage electrical power distribution systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities.

  Design of normal, emergency and standby power distribution systems.

  Work on varying project types and sizes including laboratories, educational facilities, office spaces, mission critical facilities, and cultural facilities.

  Complete electrical design calculations including system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, coordination studies, voltage drop calculations, and lighting calculations.

  Collect field data, complete field surveys, and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  Perform construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, site observations, and RFI responses.

  Knowledge of Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, EasyPower, ETAP, Revit, SKM, and AGI32 software.

  Use of computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  Coordinate design solutions with other design professionals.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Requirements:

  Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field.

  Must have completed three years of study.

  Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Knowledge of design software including Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, EasyPower, ETAP, Revit, SKM, and AGI32 software.

  Previous professional experience is a plus, but not required.

  Ability to work in a team environment.

  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  Additional Information

  Relocation is not available for this position.

  Sponsorship is not available for this position.

  Non-Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $20.90/Hr - $28.74/Hr.
