We are actively looking for a Senior-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Seattle or Federal Way office. The responsibilities of this position include working with new technologies and developing industries from microgrids to projects in the offshore wind. Preparing multiple or complex plans, designs and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications.Moffatt & Nichol is a global infrastructure advisory firm with 40+ offices in 9 countries. We are a multidiscipline professional services firm with specialized expertise in structural, coastal, and civil engineering; environmental sciences; economics analysis; inspection and rehabilitation; and program management solutions.Duties and responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Completes multiple or complex electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammatesProvides multiple or complex design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to:Medium/low voltage power distribution systemsMicrogrids to projects in the offshore wind industryLighting systemsLightning protection systemsGrounding systemsCommunications systemsControl SystemsElectrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)Electrical calculations, selective coordination and arc flash studiesPrepares detailed large contract documents, studies and cost estimatesSubmittal reviews and construction observations for electrical work on projectsAssist in companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processesOther duties:Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; requiredMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering; preferredProfessional Engineer License (PE) in Electrical Engineering; required10+ years of related experience in: requiredMedium/low voltage power distribution systemsGrounding systemsLighting systemsCommunications systemsElectrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)Selective coordination and arc flash studiesWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit; requiredProficiency in ETAP or EasyPower and AGI32; preferredAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171Base Salary Range:$147,500 to $181,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Washington market.Physical requirements:Majority of work is office based. Some site visits to meet with clients, sub consultants, utilities, and other parties to investigate site conditions and meet project requirements. Site visits may also include working around live electrical equipment
