JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The R&D Electrical Engineer will have ademonstrated aptitude for leadership and the ability to workindependently either as a leader or member of a larger R&D team. TheElectrical Engineer will be responsible for the planning andimplementation of controls for new machine builds or machineimprovements in support of R&D project initiatives. The ability to planand conduct independent research and to stimulate and support the workof staff professionals is required Safety and Procedures: Follow allpublicized safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job.Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis forthe department/role. Essential Job Functions * Designs and implementselectrical control systems for laboratory and/or pilot equipment onmultiple projects both independently and as a team member * Builds,tests and qualifies electrical control systems necessary to developingand making new product concepts * May direct activities of one or moretechnicians or co-op students * Generates technical reports *Generates ideas for electrical control systems to enable new processes* Delivers written and/oral presentations * Resolves problems withcustom electrical control equipment * Develops an understanding of themarketplace and processes * Designs electrical control designs that areconsistent and supportive of a control architecture established bysenior electrical engineer * Documents electrical control designs,algorithms and programs such that the equipment can be readilyunderstood and serviced by other electrical engineers * Gathers andinterprets data * Uses knowledge and understanding of the R&D equipmentto suggest solutions to problems encountered in operating andcontrolling such equipment. Exercises judgment on the progress of thework and makes suggestions of technical alternatives as needed * Leads,plans, conducts, schedules and coordinates projects * Reads,understands and is committed to conducting business in accordance toAlbany International\'s Business Ethics Policy.
