Come join our team of more than 70 full-time, part-time, and studentstaff representing five continents and 16 native languages! Be a part ofan internationally recognized Education Abroad Office. The Center forInternational Education at Northern Arizona University (NAU) hasreceived the Paul Simon Award, and the Education Abroad unit within CIEhas received the Heiskill Award. Additionally, NAU is ranked in IIE\'sOpen Doors within the top 14 US institutions for year-long study abroadprograms. Our office has over 500 programs in more than 76 countries. Wesend students abroad for the year, semester, summer, and winter orspring break and offer students opportunities through exchange,provider, intern, and faculty-led programs based on their academic,financial, and personal goals. At NAU, you will be able to work with adiverse group of students and partners. As an HSI, NAU is over 50%Hispanic with a higher-than-average Native American population as well.
The Education Abroad Advisor will have responsibility for programs inLatin America and Spain but will need to be flexible and is expected toaccommodate changes in their region based on departmental needs. Asummary of duties for this position includes, but is not limited to:education abroad advising for both NAU and host university, educationabroad territory management (currently in Latin American and Spain), andcampus partner leadership (LatinX, Black Student Union, and Firstgeneration co-led). This position may require international travelthroughout the year.
Education Abroad Advising - 35%
Advises students on regional area programs of study (year-long,semester and summer, spring break, or winter programs).Advises the majority of faculty led program enrollment, incollaboration with the Assistant Director and the Education Abroadteam.Advises students on academic credit, grade transfer processes andother academic policies as they relate to NAU in general and thestudent\'s program of study.Advises students on program costs, financial aid and scholarshipopportunities, financial planning for study abroad, and any otherlogistical aspects related to the program, including housing, amongmany others.Advises students, faculty, staff, and parents on NAU\'sadministrative policies, procedures and opportunities for studyabroad.Classroom presentations as needed.Advises faculty and academic advisors on academic policies of hostinstitutions and of NAU\'s policies for transfer of courses earnedabroad.Assigned NAU Led program advising.Education Abroad Territory Management - 35%
Manages an assigned territory of programs abroad - currently LatinAmerica and Spain.Communicates with host instit tions regarding NAU\'s policies andprogram management issues.Maintains program information up-to-date, including admissionapplications, housing applications, and any other relevantinformation.Manages the credit and grade transfer processes for assignedprograms, including communication with the Office of the Registrarand the Financial Aid Office, until grades are posted.Conducts periodic program site visits and assessment as necessary.Campus Partner Leadership - 20%
Manages cross campus Education Abroad collaborations with thefollowing groups on campus:Latine Student ServicesBlack Student UnionFirst Generation Co-LeadGlobal Languages and Cultures (GLC) Spanish ProgramAdministrative - 10%

Bachelor\'s degree in related field, AND
Two to four years related working experience, including:
Demonstrated experience working with students and other partnerrepresentatives on issues related to academic advising, academicissues and cultural adjustmentDemonstrated experience engaging with diverse and global student andpartner populations - a high degree of sensitivity to a wide varietyof cultural norms is required; OR\<
