Location: This position can be based at one of these facilities (Chester County, SC, Canandaigua, NY, or Elizabeth, NJ) OR remote from specified states (SC, NY, NJ) with regular travel between all of these facilities.
As East Coast Regional EHS Manager, for E. & J. Gallo Winery, you will lead the development and implementation of policies, programs, and practices across multiple sites to ensure Gallo's compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, and EHS standards. You will work closely with site EHS managers and leadership teams to identify potential hazards, develop corrective actions, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Your role will be critical in ensuring that Gallo's operations are conducted safely and sustainably, while maintaining the company's reputation as a leader in EHS performance.
What You Will Do
Develop and lead the implementation of regional strategy to ensure alignment with corporate standards, and applicable regulations that leverage resources and fosters teamwork across the region.
Partner with management on complex EHS problems and provide solutions involving employees, the organization, and the public.
Conduct data analytics to evaluate program/system gaps and develop/align a strategy to ensure EHS compliance, the reduction/elimination of injuries, and environmental contamination.
Directly influence agency regulatory development processes and act as a leader in the industry on areas of EHS compliance or regulatory interpretation. Represents the organization at regulatory hearings and legal actions.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Environmental and/or Health and Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, chemistry, biology, or geology plus 8 years of experience in corporate or site environmental management reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years in corporate or site environmental management reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
Certified Safety Professional
Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
Depending on location of hire travel may be 25-40% of the time.
Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart
Master’s degree plus 8 years of experience in corporate or site environmental management reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
Certified Safety Professional, Drinking Water Operator certification (Volume 1), Water Treatment Operator license (T1), Water Distribution Operator license (D1), Registered Environmental Manager.
DOT Certification.
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.
Lean Six-sigma Green Belt or higher.
ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor.
Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.
Skilled in reading, analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Skilled in writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups and boards of directors.
Skilled in the use of MS PowerPoint at a basic level; intermediate MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access.
Experience applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
Experience applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
Experience in conducting root cause analysis in the event of EHS incidents.
Compensation:
Hiring Salary Range Posted: $106,740 - $178,000 / year
Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
