Who We Are:

　　Since 1985, BHCHP’s mission has been to ensure unconditionally equitable and dignified access to the highest quality health care for all individuals and families experiencing homelessness in greater Boston. Over 10,000 homeless individuals are cared for by Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program each year. We are committed to ensuring that every one of these individuals has access to comprehensive health care, from preventative dental care to cancer treatment. Our clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals work in more than 30 locations to serve some of our community’s most vulnerable—and most resilient—citizens.

　　From our earliest days as a program, we have always sought to do work that is transformational: recognizing our shared humanity; centering dignity, compassion, mutual respect and supporting the right of every individual to access the highest levels of health care and every staff member to reach their fullest potential. 　　Job Summary:

　　Hours:  Per Diem: Monday -Friday, hours and shifts will vary based on coverage    

　　The Program Driver will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and transportation of our patients at the Barbara McInnis House and other program sites. The driver will be responsible for transporting patients to and from assigned appointments in a safe and timely manner and will assist with responding to program needs.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the vehicle as necessary.

　　Reporting all mechanical concerns to department director for safe, optimum and reliable service.

　　Transporting patients to and from appointments, methadone clinics, treatment programs, and discharge dispositions.

　　Qualifications:

　　Current and valid Massachusetts driver’s license, with no prior motor vehicle violations record preferred; minimum of two years professional driving experience of a large vehicle and/or handicap accessible vehicle with wheelchair lift.

　　Proficient reading, writing, and communication skills.

　　Ability to communicate on 2-way devices (radios, cell phones, landline).

　　Health care experience preferred but not required.

　　CPR Training.

　　CDL license, preferred but not required.

　　Compensation and Benefits:

　　The compensation for this position is  $22.00 per hour.
