We are looking for full-time, permanent Van Drivers to join us at our site in Wetherby. You will be contracted to 40 hours per week on a Monday to Friday 0530-1330 shift pattern.

We are looking to offer a competitive salary of £32,000 per year, £23.07 per hr paid for any overtime.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
To control the day to day operation with regards to the drivers, ensuring it is executed efficiently.
Conducting remedial planning to effectively manage live changes to the plan if needed.
To ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism
To support with meeting KPI targets including OTIF, scanning and ePOD compliance.
To ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line management.
To ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets.
To ensure that the procedure for late and failed deliveries is followed where necessary.
To be the first option of cover for the Transport Planner.
Ensuring customer service level agreements are achieved, escalating any issues impacting on these to line management and customer directly.
To use all IT based systems in the effective delivery of their role.
Ensures that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information toboth internal and external customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, dealing withcustomer issues etc.
To ensure that all traffic planning activity is undertaken in line with legislativerequirements e.g. RTR etc
To ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting anyconcerns to line management
To identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities
To demonstrate the Company Values in the undertaking of their role
To undertake any other reasonable task as required.

To undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs
and business requirements
Ensure a customer focused approach and responsive to customer requirements. Create excellence in customer relationship management by improving the service offered.
To receive and make necessary phone calls outside of normal working hours to ensure the operation meets its delivery requirements.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
CPC Holder (preferable but not essential)
Knowledge of Working Time Directive and EU Driving Laws
Knowledge of Company policies and procedures
Operational understanding of team roles within a transport operation
Understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or cost centre management
Good communication skills
Confidence in utilising Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Taking responsibility and demonstrating commitment
Decision making
Experience of planning and managing a complex transport environment
Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast moving environment and planning and organising skills within a transport operation
