NY1484752Domestic Violence Victims Advocate.Part time, 19 hours per week, for Catholic Charities in Ilion, NY, 13357.Pay rate: Minimum $17.50/hour; Maximum $18.75/hourJob Duties: Provide individual client support, criminal justice and legal system advocacy, referral to ancillary community services, interacting with various public and community agencies, case management, outreach, and education and information to schools, organizations and many diverse groups throughout Herkimer County. Work with social service providers, the healthcare system, the justice system, the education system, government, employers, clergy, volunteers and individual community members to promote a coordinated community response and prevention of domestic violence. Provide Safe Exchange for child visitation between custodial and non-custodial parties. A Valid NYS Driver's license and car are necessary. Flexibility is a must.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Associates degree in related field and/or relevant work experience. Knowledge of the issues and dynamics of domestic violence. Experience teaching or giving presentations to groups.
