**[THE POSITION[The City of Fresno is recruiting a Division Manager who will primarily manage and supervise the Community Engagement Division of the Fresno Animal Center. The Community Engagement Division will have a community-based approach to field animal care services and enforcement and will be responsible for developing a comprehensive citywide outreach and education regarding responsible pet ownership and available resources that help keep pets in their homes. The Division Manager will have oversight of animal care and animal control processes and procedures consistent with best practices and efficiencies as well as state and local ordinances. The position oversees and coordinates with external agencies to ensure regulatory compliance of center operations.[The Division Manager will also be tasked with developing a work plan to ensure all services and procedures performed by their division follow [California state, federal, and municipal animal related laws and regulations governing the impounding, releasing and euthanasia of animals. [Furthermore, the Division Manager will ensure the Animal Center [develops processes and procedures consistent with best practices and efficiencies.[Incumbents will be exposed to a working environment with animals (primarily dogs and cats) which may lead to possible exposure of unpleasant odors and noises, allergens, interactions with animals, and possible exposure to zoonotic diseases; and will be required to handle and restrain animals humanely and safely using approved protocols and practices.[One vacancy currently exists within the Animal Center Department.[ Assignment will be in the Community Engagement Division.
[This is an unclassified position in which the incumbent serves at the will of the Department Director.
**[THE REQUIREMENTS[Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for further consideration:
[Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a field directly related to technical discipline and four (4) years of directly related experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
