About Director/Sr Director Client Portfolio Manager – Leveraged Finance

Nuveen Global Fixed Income (“Nuveen GFI”) is world-class asset manager that manages approximately $600 billion of investment strategies across the broad spectrum of the fixed income markets. Nuveen GFI is seeking a client portfolio manager to support the ongoing growth of our platform. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of leveraged finance credit markets and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. The candidate should also have experience developing and enhancing marketing content that includes, but is not limited to, presentations, whitepapers, RFP/DDQ responses.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Primarily assist in the growth and retention of the firm’s leveraged finance assets and, secondarily, the assets of the firm’s other taxable fixed income investment strategies

Work collaboratively with other members of the team to appropriately position the firm’s leveraged finance offerings and hone the firm’s messaging on our credit capabilities

Proactively partner with U.S. distribution teams to identify prospective clients and opportunities

Support distribution and relationship management teams with responses to specific questions about strategies and general questions about the credit markets

Serve as the subject matter expert for investment-related questions and coverage for prospective investors, clients, and internal distribution partners.

Stay current on industry developments and Nuveen products

Partner with product management and the investment team on product development ideas and initiatives

Leverage internal resources to drive and grow business activity

Educational Requirements

University (Degree) PreferredWork Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the asset management industry, 7+ years preferred

Series 7 63 FINRA licenses or willingness to obtain within 3 months

Knowledge/Skills

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the asset management industry,

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university; CFA, MBA (or progress toward) a plus

Strong understanding of leveraged finance credit markets.

Entrepreneurial mindset and strong client service and sales orientation

Excellent written communication skills, keen attention to detail and organizational prowess

Experience analyzing and synthesizing attribution in written and verbal format

Effective ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and timelines

A genuine team player that believes in the power of collaborative work and builds relationships with co-workers in a collegial and respectful manner

The ability to think strategically and creatively and connect broad ideas with detailed execution

Willingness and ability to travel

Base Pay Range: $125,600/yr. - $180,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
