Director, Technology Strategic Planning - Denver, CO
Director, Technology Strategic Planning leader will act as deputy to Chief Information Officer, and will be responsible for providing governance for the team (team distributed across Denver, NY, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Vilnius, and California), support budget / finance management, workforce planning and management, technology risk, audit and security management, resource planning, consistent team performance management, consistent vendor strategy, preparation of Executive Team level materials (MBRs).
This role will have solid line to CIO and dotted line to Head of Technology Strategy and Planning. The person will be expected to operate autonomously in many situations by making decisions, pushing progress, and communicating the decisions to the CIO and subsequently to the organization. This person will be expected to operate in a highly collaborative manor across a diverse set of stakeholders and operational owners but also disrupt and overcome a culture of consensus decision making.
Role Responsibilities
Align Technology Strategy to CIO organization strategy, by developing operating plans to implement the strategy. Working with CIO management team to identify what each department needs to do to make the strategy work.
Lead the execution of CIO portfolio management, strategic alignment, and performance monitoring.
Lead CIO team performance reporting (OKRs, KPIs, Metrics). Advise and provide guidance on performance tracking direction.
Will lead OKRs and objective alignment across CIO organization and with cross functional groups.
Monitor Key metrics and report to Executive team regularly on team's performance.
Lead global resource / workforce strategy and implementation (insourcing, outsourcing, location strategy) across CIO organization. Work with technology management team, HR and finance organizations to implement strategy.
Lead consistent Vendor Strategy and management (critical vendors, vendor alignment, deal negotiation with sourcing)
Lead CIO risk management in alignment with Technology Strategy and Planning team and CIO team.
Ensure complex root causes are solved across CIO organization. Responsible for managing and following through audit requests and issues across CIO organization.
Identify and problem solve key CIO team performance issues / incidents.
Get to root cause, clear historical / cultural roadblocks and lead the actions across CIO to solve the issues.
Escalate items that are being missed or need to executive support in addressingStand in at meetings for CIO and support raising the bar on expectations
Role Requirements
10+ years of experience in technology industry with specific background in functional strategy, program management, operations, and/or technology functions.
Requires 5+ years of related technical and business experience.
Extensive experience in global companies with several business verticals
Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or Information Technology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Deep understanding of all aspects of a technology organization
Have managed 100M and larger budgets in highly complex and matrix environment
Ability to influence with or without authority
Easily bridges teams, building collaboration and seamless touch points
10+ years of building and leveraging cross-functional relationships requiring executive presence.
Demonstrated accomplishment with transformation, simplification and operating efficiencies.
High attention to detail with an astute ability to create an actionable summary
Salary
The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 and will be eligible for short-term incentive, long-term incentive, 401k, healthcare, and paid days off. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
