This role is responsible for the development and execution of Travel Retail Worldwide Marketing strategy for Clinique Skincare. The successful candidate will design a data-based marketing strategy and initiate key activities together with Travel Retail Regions to help the brand accelerate its retail sales in the channel thus gaining market share while building brand equity and deliver profitable financial growth.
The position partners closely with Travel Retail regional teams based in Singapore, London and Miami, TR teams (Demand Planning, Distribution, Finance, Merchandising, Digital) and Global teams (Consumer Marketing, Product Marketing, Education, Supply Chain, Creative).
This role will report into the Travel Retail Worldwide Executive Director for Clinique.
· Develops yearly marketing strategy and action plan for Clinique Skincare business in the Travel Retail channel globally (TRWW) to drive retail sales market share gains, deliver on financial targets (top and bottom line) and nurture Clinique dermatological brand equity.
· Establishes key priorities between product franchises and targeted passengers in partnership with regional teams.
· Adapt the global brand’s brand strategy to develop TRWW go-to-market plans including the marketing calendar, visual merchandising, creative assets, education and 360-degree consumer engagement plans.
· Work closely with the Executive Director on the strategy and development of Travel Retail-led campaigns with market and consumer insights analysis and gain alignment from Global Brand on the program development and execution.
· Define the Clinique Skincare Assortment Strategy to reflect the Active Derma acceleration plan in TRWW, including:
o Leading the line edit analysis for Basic Business SKUs with the support from the Marketing Manager and Marketing Associate
o Defining the New Product Launches participation
o Reviewing and defining the on-going Skincare Travel Exclusive (TREX) strategy
o Leading the Promo strategy for Skincare
· Work closely with the Executive Director and Trade marketing manager on TREX strategy and assortment, identify portfolio gaps, and white space opportunities. Collaborate with the marketing manager on program and artwork initiation with cross-functional team (artwork creation, packaging, and translations).
· Monitor performance of key consumer pax mix, with a focus on Asian, European and South American consumers, to ensure TR is aligned on top performers and Hero SKUs
· Lead monthly category reviews to align on newness, basic business performance, opportunities and trends with Demand Planning team.
· Manage and determine action plans for all excess and existing inventory in TR hubs
· Be the key point of contact for Clinique Skincare and promo initiatives in partnership with the TRWW operations team to manage new launches, sampling, gifts with purchase and collateral items. Oversee all excess submissions and assortment submissions as requested.
· Coach and lead the Skincare and Promo team to execute with excellence and motivate with strong team leadership.
· Develop and manage a team of 2 in New York while influencing and growing marketers in Travel Retail regional teams.
Qualifications
· Minimum 6 years of marketing and operational experience
· Strong product and promotional development and project management skills
· Knowledge of skincare market and of international consumers behavior is a plus
· Ability to manage a multitude of projects
· Intuitive and agile learner, with solution-oriented mindset
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Comfortable presenting / have experience in group speaking
· Balance between analytical and creative thinking
· Financial & Business acumen to initiate and execute impactful and profitable activations
· Ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships with the cross-functional, global and regional teams
· Ability to lead, coach and develop a team of 2 in New York and to influence and grow marketers in Travel Retail regional teams.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with strong analytical skills
· SAP Knowledge a plus
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $117,000 to $202,100. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
