About Director, Regional Sales - Civilian

  What You'll Do

  You will lead a team of Regional Managers and Account Managers to help our Civilian agencies accomplish their most critical mission: Protect and handle our natural resources, our cultural heritage and how we move and live daily in our communities. These agencies are tasked with serving, building and protecting our most valuable assets. You will partner with Engineering Leaders and System Architects passionate about positioning Cisco’s software and hardware solutions to help Civilian agencies accomplish their mission!

  You will have overall sales leadership responsibilities for four main verticals inside Civilian - Healthcare, Entitlement, Financial & Services, and Scientific

  Your team will consist of Regional Managers and Account Managers in those four verticals - 4 Direct Reports, 25+ Account Managers.

  You will also have a matrix team of Sales Engineers, Sales Engineer Leaders, Solution Architects, Product Specialists, Sales Engineers, Service Delivery Executives, Legal and Finance.

  Who You'll Work With

  You will need to strategically drive Cisco's end-to-end vision for our Federal Civilian customers, as well as maintain an in-depth understanding of funding vehicles, capture opportunities, competitive conditions, industry practices, market opportunities, and customer requirements. In addition to leading "one winning team", the Director will work closely and cross-collaboratively with Cisco's most senior executives within Customer Advocacy, Technology Business Units, and Cisco's Executive Sales team. You will also be responsible for crafting strategic relationships with our Partner ecosystem to drive $1B+ in Cisco Revenue. This is one of the largest, most visible, and complex roles within Cisco's Federal Sales Organization.

  Who You Are

  You are a proven sales leader with deep Civilian knowledge and have experience building a strategy with Civilian agencies. You will bring excitement and passion to lead our dedicated sales organization to build a vision that aids Civilian agencies in their ability to complete their missions. You will also be expected to empower, inspire, and continually develop your team and channel partners while taking on new competitors as Cisco continues to gain market share in our Advance Technologies, which include Security, Collaboration, Data Center, and Application Monitoring. Key experience and performance traits that will aid in your success include:

  You are a senior manager with 8+ years of leading a sales organization by developing and executing a sales strategy.

  You have 8+ years in leadership roles selling solutions to senior executives at Federal agencies.

  You possess a deep knowledge and experience in building a strategy for Civilian agencies.

  You have 15+ years of experience in strategic sales and execution in the technology industry.

  You have a proven track record of leading significant revenue responsibility and over-achieving growth targets to meet stretch goals.

  You have cultivated performance by attracting, developing and retaining top sales talent and can empower in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  You have represented Cisco (or current company) in a large internal and customer-focused industry event.

  You are adept at balancing short-term pressures with overall long-term strategic goals.

  You have demonstrated the ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and optimally communicate vision (both written and verbal) and influence in a matrixed organization.

  You have a strong executive presence, you are polished, politically savvy, and you have strong leadership skills in mentoring and developing a sales organization for 60+ people.

  You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade - using simple communications that convey complex concepts in a compelling, concise and creative way.
