The Avionics Procurement team enables the timely supply of quality materials to our factories. The Avionics Director, Procurement - is responsible for leading the decentralized Procurement departments which oversee $500M in annual spend and approximately 700 suppliers. This leader will establish and execute strategies to drive improved supply chain performance (OTD, PPM), control costs (APP savings, PPV) and ensure compliance to all required FAR and DFAR regulations associated with subcontract execution. The role serves as the primary interface for executive operations, VSL, commodity management and finance groups across the business. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coaching and developing talent, possess strong interpersonal skills and problem solving strategies.

This position will lead Avionics Procurement teams in Minnesota, North Carolina, and Europe. Ideally the role will be based out of Cedar Rapids, IA or Burnsville, MN . Consideration to work remotely will be given to highly qualified candidates. Travel to Burnsville, MN will be required roughly 30% of time, or monthly.

What You Will Do:

Owns the operations of all phases of Procurement for client accounts or product families in accordance with financial goals and technical strategy.

Develops strategy for effective vendor selection and management with a view to minimize purchasing costs without compromising quality or reliability of supply.

Develops sourcing and procurement operational goals, anticipating changes in price trends and manufacturing processes.

Directs the resolution of client issues or problems.

Approves and qualifies larger and more complex vendors to fulfill account needs.

Directs processes and strategy for complex request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.

Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.

Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.

Seeking excellent communication skills for internal and external customer interactions

Facilitates development and standard work of direct and subcontract procurement teams

May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.

Travel required 30% and more frequent when starting the position.

Qualifications You Must Have:

U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience

At least 3 years of prior supply chain experience

Travel required 30% and more frequent when starting the position

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
