Description:
This position will be responsible for the overall direction and activities of the Material Bid Sourcing and Procurement functions. This position will provide leadership for the department and maintain an effective, cost competitive supply chain, accurate inventory and plan for the procurement of goods and services to support the organization. There is a team of around 12 procurement employees that this position will manage and develop.
Job Duties:
Serve as a resource and advisor to Senior Management in matters related to cost reduction initiatives, value analysis, and business/contract negotiations. Key focus areas will include:
Setting and facilitating the overall procurement strategy of the organization
High quality, competitive sourcing of materials
Accurate, competitive bidding of materials
Ensuring efficiency, accuracy and cost effectiveness of the purchasing process
Compliance to all company and customer requirements
Manage the operational, administrative, technical, and financial responsibilities of the department.
Establish metrics and specific objectives to drive outcomes and enable on-time delivery of company products through on-time delivery of quality materials.
Work with functional area management staff to ensure competent resources are in place, sufficient resources are available to support surge actions, and the proper training and development actions are taken to support organizational succession planning.
Oversee a complex material bidding process to assure the on-time submission of relevant material input including:
Competitive material pricing within required lead time at prudent quantity breaks
Delivery of cost competitive materials that meet company and customer delivery and quality requirements
Manage and Negotiate exceptions to company terms to minimize risk to customer programs
Drive continuous improvement of departments through process improvement initiatives and establishing and managing relevant performance metrics.
Manage material and planning exceptions to mitigate impact to on-time delivery goals and inform the organization of potential problems.
Create and maintain a skilled workforce through timely coaching and feedback, cross training, and employee development. Identify training and personal development action plans. Resolve personnel issues in a timely, effective manner and in accordance with company values expectations. Serve as a role model for values implementation and reinforcement.
Performs other duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives.

Monday - Friday
9/80 schedule
(M-TH 7-5, F 7-4) off every other Friday
Skills & Qualifications:
7+ years of experience managing a procurement team
Manufacturing industry experience is a must
Electronics / circuit board industry OR DoD, government, military manufacturing industry - one or both of these is required
NAPM (A.P.P. C.P.M), APICS (CPIM, CIRM) or PMI (PMP) certification preferred
