Albion College invites applications for The Director of Philanthropy position. This position will guide and manage engagement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective major donors to Albion College, with a focus on capital projects and presidential priorities. The Director will oversee the implementation of strategies to increase overall cash production and major gift activity across the Albion College constituencies -- alumni, parents, students, and friends. They will be a key player in the implementation of best practices, relationship building with internal and external partners, and maintaining the highest comprehensive approach to strengthen the culture of philanthropy on campus and beyond with integrity. To be successful in this role, the Director will become fully knowledgeable of the College's priorities as they relate to philanthropy, with focused efforts on projects within those defined priorities, e.g., facilities, capital campaigns, programmatic support, and scholarships. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications, analytical and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer - Philanthropy.The person in this position will actively promote diversity, belonging and equity in all of their interactions with others on campus, especially historically marginalized students, faculty, and staff (e.g., those who are historically marginalized, first-generation, undocumented and DACA, LGBTQIA , BIPOC).

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum 3 years' experience in successful major gift fundraising or related experience with increasing responsibilities, preferably in higher education
Confidence and experience with "first contact and cold call" communication required to expand the engaged prospect pool on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
