Their dutiesinclude evaluating and directing all nursing employees, establishinggoals for the nursing department and creating, enforcing complianthealthcare policies, developing a collaborative and efficient workplacewith specific attention to quality patient care, and administrative tasksuch as record keeping and budgeting.
May be expected to lift up to 25 pounds or up to 50 pounds withassistance. Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of thetime while on duty. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterityessential to performing designated duties required. Optimal auditoryacuity required. Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipmentand instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties.Physical conditions are clean, neat and well-lit. May be subjected tounpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous orinfectious agents where judgement as to precautions needed to be takenis essential. Climate control and ambient temperature variances may beexperienced and required by patient care and needs of the surgical team.Exposure to limited amounts of radiation, hazardous chemicals orsubstances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours ofduty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirementsof the daily surgical schedule.
