The Director of Field Education is a Clinical Professor who oversees the Office of Field Education. The experiential learning curriculum at the UMB SSW comprises nearly half of the total MSW program and involves maintaining community partnerships with 745 agencies and over 4000 field instructors. This position will work with students, faculty, and staff at the Baltimore City, Universities at Shady Grove, and online campuses. This position will be based primarily in Baltimore and reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The essential functions of this position include: * Managing the annual and day-to-day operations of the Office of Field Education. * Supervising administrative support staff, field coordinators, field liaisons, and seminar instructors. * Collaborating with departments (including Academic Affairs, Students Affairs, Admissions & Enrollment), as well as faculty and curriculum committees to establish, maintain, and manage strategic quality improvement initiatives to modify field policies and procedures, modify field education curriculum, and enhance the student experience. * Overseeing monitoring of field placement quality and viability. * Overseeing ongoing development of the field education electronic management system. * Recruiting and developing new field placement agencies and oversee execution of partnership agreements. * Strengthening the School of Social Work’s climate for diversity, equity & inclusion. * Serving on committees and workgroups of the SSW (or designate another representative from OFE) for the overall MSW program, curriculum committees, enrollment management, student progression, and DEI. * Serving as the primary point of contact within and outside of OFE for student, agency, and field instructor questions and concerns. * Coordinating and collaborating on accreditation and self-study content related to field. * Managing data gathered within the OFE and preparing administrative reports. * Representing the OFE on UMB committees and other professional organizations, including the Mid-Atlantic Consortium of Directors of Field Education. * Participating in the dissemination of the work of OFE, including collaborating on presentations and publications related to field education. * Employing anti-racist practices and principles to accomplish work. * Perform other duties as assigned. Education: Required: Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work. Current LCSW-C or equivalent clinical license in social work. Preferred: Doctoral Degree in Social Work * *Experience: * Required: A minimum of five years Post-Masters Social Work Practice Experience. Experience supervising staff. Experience providing field instruction. Experience providing social work supervision, teaching, and/or training.
