What We Offer
Market-calibrated base compensation range: (annual salary)
Low: $109,267.56
High: $147,832.58
Additional compensation:
A responsive, team-based bonus program that rewards our collective success monthly and quarterly.
This position does not have a commission plan.
This position is eligible for mileage reimbursement.

How You Can Help Us
The Director of Accounting is responsible for all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring processes result in accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external parties. Establishes and implements accounting policies and procedures, providing proper internal controls. Leads and develops the accounting staff using the company’s core values as a guide.
What You'll Do
Leadership / Extreme Ownership
Act as an Ambassador of Boulder Creek Neighborhoods® (BCN) with all internal and external customers, trade partners and vendors.
Utilize company and industry data and reporting to inform decisions.
Act as Lifefull® Listener and contributing member of the BCN Leadership Team.
Embody high standards of professionalism and job performance at all times and inspire all employees to do the same.
Guide the resolution of operational issues as they come up; proactively and collaboratively solving problems and fixing root causes.
Policies, Processes, and Procedures
Serve as a strategic planner by researching best practices within and outside of the industry, and proactively identify, develop, and drive forward-looking strategies.
Design and implement Accounting policies and processes to ensure all procedures support the BCN organizational goals.
Managing Accounting Operations
Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements for all business sectors.
Leads the accounting team, setting clear expectations, providing training, and coaching. Fostering an environment that is team-oriented and focused on constant improvement.
Establishes and maintains all accounting and financial reporting systems, ensuring the general ledger is maintained accurately and that accounting records are organized.
Evaluates new contracts and transactions to determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP.
Calculates and prepares monthly journal entries for complex accounting transactions.
Ensures general contracting projects and other revenue contracts and revenue recognition policies are in compliance with US GAAP / ASC 606.
Collaborates with the finance team to review project level budgeting, ensuring accurate calculation of shared cost allocations for COGS recognition.
Assists the CFO in cash flow planning. Making sure all financial transactions are entered timely and bank accounts are accurate for future planning. Reporting out on monthly cash inflow and outflow.
Manges the annual audit process for the company, ensuring all reporting is completed accurately and timely.
Collaborates with the finance team to create the annual budget and report monthly variances to the Executive Team.
Monitors Bank Covenant compliance on a monthly basis, preparing required quarterly reporting.
Collaborates with other Leadership Team members to create cross functional processes that affect accounting.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
Support month-end and year-end close process, assisting staff when required.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

What You Need
Experience and Education
Proven work experience overseeing all accounting functions.
5-10 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
Experience with directly supervising other employees.
Experience working in the construction, contracting, and/or real estate industries.
Advanced degree in Accounting.
CPA or CMA preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures including GAAP and FASB.
Experience with creating complex consolidated financial statements.
Experience dealing with multiple entities across multiple business lines.
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills, ability to prioritize and take initiative.
Must be detailed-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with heavy workload volume.
Ability to remain flexible, calm, and focused in a fast-paced work environment where priorities change frequently.
Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word and Excel).
Ability to work as a member of a team and work independently.
Effective customer service skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of internal and external customers.
