  What Business Development contributes to Cardinal Health :

  The Director, Nuclear Business Development is responsible for acting as a key strategic partner for all Cardinal Health’s Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions business needs, including: Pipeline/partnership opportunities, footprint expansion opportunities, M&A opportunities, long-term planning, and market research. This role helps business leadership think through tactical decisions to support their long-term plan to lead within the market. This role has high senior leadership exposure and presence. This role will work extensively with internal cross-functional teams to execute role responsibilities. This person is responsible for driving individualized solutions, sales, and services to new and existing customers. This role builds and maintains relationships with key decision makers or potential influencers. Involves a longer sales cycle.

  Job Summary:

  The Director contributes to the development and execution of core strategies and growth initiatives within Cardinal Health’s Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions business, ensuring the business unit achieves its strategic and financial objectives. In collaboration with strategy, business development and the senior leadership team, this role will drive partnership opportunities from initial concept or contact to development/clinical trials to commercialization. This includes deal modeling, complex negotiations, internal/external resource matrixed management and significant project management. In addition, the Director will maintain a real-time awareness of market trends, competitive actions and strategic partnerships, furthering segment and enterprise leadership’s knowledge of the market and its potential impact on their business.

  The position reports to the Vice President of Business Development; due to the travel associated with the role, this individual can reside anywhere in the United States with convenient access to a major, national airport.

  Responsibilities:

  Develops growth strategies and long-term positioning plans for Cardinal Health’s Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions business segment.Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders; consults frequently on prospective pipeline product opportunities including information on the latest industry developmentsResearches and develops deep understanding of Nuclear Medicine market, competitors, products, industry, and potential target opportunities considering Cardinal Health's Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions goalsRepresents Cardinal Health during pipeline product contract opportunities working cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders. Develops acquisition, product, and service pipelines and plans outreach to develop relationships with potential pharmaceutical partner targets.Work with Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions (NPHS) leadership team to understand strategic direction and align on strategies to support this directionProactively prospects for, develops, and maintains a pipeline of strategic opportunitiesDevelops and manages long term relationships with identified opinion leaders and thought leaders to achieve scientific, educational, and business goalsProvides briefs to NPHS leadership on emergent technologies and competition.Prepare presentation materials in support of recommendations to proceed with strategic opportunitiesLead and/or support financial and operational due diligenceServe as a primary NPHS account owner of Select Strategic Partners and ensure expected business results are realized for both partiesNegotiates complex technical business agreements on behalf of Cardinal Health’s Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions business segment.Independently defines projects, establishes budgets, identifies participants, and mitigates riskMaintain an understanding of regulatory, market, and competitive trends which impact the company's strategic positioning.Qualifications:

  Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred. Advance Degree preferred5+ years of Business Development experience preferredHealthcare sales experience preferredNuclear experience highly preferredProven product knowledge in radiopharmaceutical business area preferredDemonstrated ability to build effective long-term customer/partner relationships that lead to a mutually beneficial business results and outcomesStrong analytical and reasoning capabilities coupled with ability to perform in fast paced, matrix environmentsStrong negotiating, contracting and deal modeling capabilitiesExperience creating solutions to meet customers unique needsExperience in reading, writing, and negotiating licenses, partnership agreements, and related legal documentsFast learner of technical and scientific conceptsHigh degree of integrity, authenticity, creativity and intelligence; excellent problem solving skills and results orientedProficiency in executive level presentation development and business case creationAbility to confidently work with c-suite internally and externallyStrong interpersonal skills and communication style that will develop confidence not only internally among employees and the management board, but also externally among current and potential customersAbility to travel at least 50% of time or more, includes international travelWhat is expected of you and others at this level:

  Utilize broad and deep knowledge to develop innovative new business practices, policies and proceduresCollaborate with Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions (NPHS) leadership, a myriad of colleagues and external sources to identify potential partnership or acquisition candidates which support the broader organizational goalsWorks on or may lead highly complex projects of large scopeProjects are typically cross-functional and have significant and long-term impactNegotiates complex or risky technical business agreements on behalf of Cardinal Health’s Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions business segment.Consults with (NPHS) Leadership to determine pipeline project objectives with long-term implicationsActs as a mentor to less experienced colleaguesAnticipated salary range: $132,600.00 - $236,640.00
