Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
The Director, HR Business Partner serves as a strategic partner to C-Suite organizational leaders and the designated service line leaders in aligning business objectives with employees and human resources related initiatives and policies. The successful Director will assess and anticipate HR-related needs within the business and act as an employee champion and change agent as appropriate. The incumbent will serve as an integral HR team leader within a global organization which specializes in rapid mission and operational readiness.Lead and participates in scheduled COE and service line meetings and/or strategy sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
+ + Provide strategic HR consult with HQ leadership, program line management and HQ leadership, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Work with direct reports in analyzing trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Directly work with leaders at all levels to manage and resolve complex employee relations concerns; conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations when warranted.
Must have an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing company risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Develops and assists individual program HR managers in determining immediate and long-range HR requirements based on corporate objectives and business strategies.
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Assists in developing contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
Provides guidance and input on service line restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Identifies training needs for service line and individual executive coaching needs.
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs.
Directs and leads program start-up (phase-ins) with respect to talent acquisition, development, and instilling company culture thru new workforce. Assist program with phase-out activities, as required.
Assists Business Development teams with key personnel acquisition strategies in order to propose competitive “price to win” themes associated with new business and critical re-compete objectives.
Assists in developing talent strategy to align with business line strategic and operating plans.
Works with and assists service line and program leadership teams to identify and cultivate HiPOs regarding talent development and succession planning.
Assist in building and executing system and process roadmaps to build efficiency and effectiveness in delivery of HR needs for the organization.
Coordinate HQs and program Affirmative Action Plans
Performs other duties and assignments as required by leadership both within the service line and within the broader human resources function.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:
BA/BS Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or another related field required master's degree preferred. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
Experience
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and labor relations, diversity, performance management, and federal, state, and international employment laws.
Minimum of 6 to 10 years’ experience in human resources. 3-5 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
Skills & Technology Used:
Familiarity with HRIS systems and ATS. Strong written and oral communication skills required.
25% travel expected.
