  Purpose

  Contributes to the overall success of the Global STIR Business in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  What You'll Do:

  Market Maker in STIR Derivative products including Swaps, Futures, FX FWDS and XCCY Swaps for our sales staff and customer base through a variety of different channels, including voice and electronic streams, ensuring a diligent customer focus within the risk appetite of the business and the bank

  Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge

  Provide appropriate market color and information internally to the broader sales team, in addition to have a proper understanding of market functioning, liquidity and specific dynamics of Foreign Exchange markets globally

  Deep understanding of Global Macro and Microeconomic factors that influence the Global STIR markets

  Understanding of pre-established market risk limits and desk position limits to ensure all risks are understood and within the appetite of the GFX business and specific desk

  Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  What You'll Bring:

  Degree in Quantitative/Business field and/or relevant work experience

  5+ Years in a Market Making role with proven revenue track record.

  CFA designation a benefit

  Experienced in Foreign Exchange and STIR Derivative products.

  Work Arrangement:

  This position is currently an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work four days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
