  Job DescriptionThe Director of Global Real Estate & Facilities will be accountable for activity relating to the planning and execution of real estate and property transactions across all Verisk business units and functions. Real estate property includes leased and serviced offices. Additionally, Verisk has recently engaged a third-party to manage its Facilities function. This is in the process of a multi-phase implementation and the Director Real Estate & Facilities will own this relationship, manage the roll-out and subsequent operations, all aspects of vendor management and function as point of escalation for Verisk stakeholders, holding the supplier accountable on the contractual and service deliverables.

  Part of the global Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team

  Plays a key role in the workplace and provides,

  Subject matter expertise for all real estate and facilities matters.Strategic portfolio planning and portfolio optimisation.Real estate transaction management, including acquisitions, renewals, restructures, and disposals.Market aligned corporate real estate standard methodology, innovation, and implementation.A consistent approach globally to the delivery of real estate and facilities services work within Verisk.Identification of market opportunities and/or contractual opportunities across the office and facilities portfolio.Risk mitigation of conflicts of interest, ethics, and compliance in the conduct of real estate activities in alignment to Verisk policies.Vendor Management and oversight, holding suppliers and partners to account on deliverables.Contract management.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  Build and develop relationships with business leaders and other key partners and develop property strategies to reduce costs while optimizing the real estate footprint, facilities management, and employee experience.Establishing awareness that the Global Director of Real Estate and Facilities is acknowledged, alongside key stakeholders, as the definitive starting point for contract planning in the realm of real estate transactions and facilities management.Manage global multi-phase implementation of Facilities third party company, serving as the SME for Facilities and primary point of contact for the companyBuild, liaise and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders including HR, Corporate Marketing, Legal, Treasury, Finance, Tax, M&A, Enterprise Risk Management/Global Security, Corporate Sustainability, and other support functions to aid and facilitate the delivery of assigned projects. Including but not limited to, providing guidance to stakeholders, understanding business need/demands and translating into contractual requirements.Operate as a real estate SME regarding transactions and/or contracts, of any nature, involving the acquisition, disposition, or renewal of Verisk's properties (purchased, sold, leased or otherwise).Lead and act as the single point of contact for individual real estate projects and coordinate internal and external resources.Lead all elements of acquisition and disposal of real property, including the financial evaluation, preparation of statements of requirement, technical due diligence, providing guidance on property options, handling letters of intent, RFPs, lease agreement negotiations, purchase & sale contract terms and conditions.Performance manage external brokers, suppliers, consultants, and agents in the transaction management of the portfolio including new lease requirements, renewals, sub-lettings, lease surrenders and other property matters. Develop and implement corporate real estate best practice. Motivate outsourced suppliers (including Facilities Management partner) to drive optimal performance, service and results.Support in the database management and MI reporting. Lead the database outsource provider and undertake monthly and quarterly critical event meetings and reviews. Liaise with stakeholders to collect key property data to ensure accuracy of the portfolio data.Ensure data is gathered accurately and consistently, for each transaction and deal proposal, and recorded in a central database to enable consistent MI reporting and financial evaluation. Work with external brokers to ensure property data completeness and accuracy.QualificationsEDUCATION

  Graduate (or equivalent) to degree level in real estate, business or finance.

  ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

  Demonstrable experience in property strategy & real estate transactions.A strong understanding of real estate markets, corporate real estate trends, and design & construction.Thorough understanding and demonstrable expertise in facilities management (global).Outstanding partner engagement skills, building sustainable networks.An inquisitive yet respectful mentality, continually promoting innovation and continuous improvement.Proven ability to deliver a multi-disciplinary approach to corporate real estate, providing a broad approach to property within established processes.Entrepreneurial thinking, demonstrating extensive understanding of business interconnectivity and the ability to act upon this understanding.Consistent track record of leading and inspiring internal and outsourced stakeholders and teams to deliver high levels of achievement, delivery and innovation.Consistent track record of excellent financial management and budgetary discipline.Strong contract negotiation and influencing skills, derived from a strong working knowledge of industry best practices, in real estate and facilities management.Well-developed interpersonal communication style and demonstrable inclusive leadership skills.DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  Experience of working globally or in a multi-country setting, with cultural awarenessSignificant experience working within a corporate real estate and facilities management environments within a global organisation.Ability to respond efficiently and effectively in a continuously changing environment.Good interpersonal skills both verbal and written, collaborative and flexible style.Pragmatic results-focussed execution.Highly refined network of key global supplier relationships and databasesTravel Requirement

  There may be some occasional travel associated with this role.
