Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of Facilities Management Operations is a qualified individual with general knowledge of all applicable building codes and licensure requirements (NFPA, VA State Code, BOCA National Codes); and OSHA, EPA, JCAHO and other National and State regulatory rules and regulations. The Director of Facilities Management also has oversight over other ancillary/support departments such as Security, and PBX/Communications. Develop and maintain current preventive maintenance programs to maintain the buildings, equipment, alarm systems, grounds, and building support system to ensure that the maximum time of service is received from the buildings and grounds.
Articulates the future vision to all levels of the organization, including development and implementation of new services.
Comfortable with change and can lead processes through to completion.
Accurately assesses, plans, designs, integrates, coordinates, and directs services, using a collaborative process, according to the scope of service offered by each department.
Maintains appropriate regulatory compliance. Knowledgeable of legal and ethical obligation of the work and serves as a resource to team members. Identifies and reports instances of impropriety through approved mechanisms. Functions as a role model of personal and professional integrity.
Oversees a service safety plan to reduce hazards and risks, prevent accidents and injuries, and maintain safe conditions for staff, patients, and physicians.
Assists team in identifying and complying with policies and regulatory standards of appropriate and adequate documentation.
Continuously improves service outcomes by overseeing development and follow-through of improvement opportunities that are consistent with the hospital mission, vision, and scope of services and with the HCA corporate vision.
Requirements:
AA/AS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education.
5 years’ experience in project management in these fields preferred.
Must have at least 5 years managerial, planning, and systems analysis management experience with clerical organizational skill knowledge.
Demonstrated current knowledge of and expertise complying with regulatory complex requirements of healthcare facilities.
Acute care hospital experience preferred.
ASHE Membership, and CHFM certification preferred; or must have ability to obtain. Must also have the ability to obtain CHSP for Safety Officer function.
