About Electrical Design Engineer

  The Electrical Engineering Professional is responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.

  General ResponsibilitiesKey participant in creating designs within inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges

  Collaborates on feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs

  Organizes development testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch

  Key participant in failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations

  Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons including; producing design reports, test reports, operating manuals and test procedures

  Collaborates with senior engineers/managers to engage with customers in soliciting product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget

  Experience / QualificationsA university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience

  Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

  Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  Additional Responsibilities:

  Define and review safety activities and work products from electronics suppliers.

  Write and manage safety requirements for new products.

  Interface with Sensata safety teams to align data flow up and down the supply chain.

  Assist Sensata product development teams with safety cases.

  Present safety results and discuss challenges with customers.

  Identify and define safety critical processes for Sensata production.

  Development and promotion of safety standards and templates within Sensata.

  Share knowledge of functional safety and project successes internally at Sensata.

  Additional Qualifications:

  Knowledge of ISO26262 and related processes and work products.

  Understanding of the functions of common analog and digital design blocks.

  Experience with software tools supporting safety analysis and work products such as JAMA, Medini, and APIS.
