Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Stanford Health Care’s (SHC) mission is to heal humanity through science and compassion, one patient at a time. Environmental Services (EVS) interacts daily with patients, staff, and visitors, creating significant opportunities for impacting and enhancing the patient and employee experience. They are responsible for general aesthetics, cleaning, and waste streams and are essential to Infection Prevention initiatives for multiple buildings.

A Brief Overview
The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for ensuring the hospital is maintained at the highest standard of cleanliness. Responsible for overseeing the development and deployment of Environmental Services programs, quality controls, daily management of cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting and overall general aesthetics. Supports over 2M square feet including clinics, HAI/quality programs, Interventional Platforms, and all waste streams. Assures all regulatory standards are met. Directs business practices in order to uphold Stanford Health Care's mission and values. Develops new and emerging business solutions for sustained growth and effective day-to-day operations.

What you will do
Provides team leadership by ensuring cohesiveness of the department and stakeholders
Oversees expenditures to control department financials
Directs daily property maintenance, housekeeping and custodial service operations in order to provide quality services
Maintains and implements sanitary and safety conditions and training to adhere to auditing procedures and statutory regulations
Accountable for the execution of product and service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery
Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives
Develops departmental budgets, utilizing trends and historical data
Reviews budgets to submit variance reports as needed
Prepares and maintains departmental reports and records, collecting statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes
Projects costs and revenues for budgeting purposes
Provides leadership in implementing and sustaining initiatives to improve Patient Satisfaction
Ensures active daily management of allocated labor budgets and adherence to position control standards are followed
Education Qualifications
Job requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered. Relevant experience in lieu of degree is in addition to the experience requirements for this position.Experience Qualifications
Five plus (5+) years experience in Environmental Services leadership in healthcareRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Technical expertise in Environmental Services for healthcare
Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment, housekeeping supplies, OSHA standards, housekeeping equipment, DNV standard, Title 22 technical procedures
Must have knowledge of Hazardous Waste Handling, Medical Waste Act or Linen Room management
Proven effectiveness at influencing senior executives and delivering cross functional global initiatives
Able to operate at a strategic, tactical and detailed analytical level
Excellent communicator able to express themselves succinctly and with clarity
Analytically strong and able to interpret data to develop concepts to drive improvement
Resilient and able to deal with ambiguity, changing priorities and differing needs of the business
Ability to work effectively cross functionally, bringing teams together to deliver shared goals
Results-oriented “change agent” who can understand different points of view and effectively manage big-picture and tactical execution

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $79.15 - $104.87 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
