Duties
Fundraising Strategy and Management
Work closely with the SVP to develop a comprehensive multi-channel fundraising plan intended to broaden the base of individual donors, and grow revenue to support the expanding ministry needs at Joni and Friends
Evaluate current development strategies and propose methods for strengthening cultivation and retention strategies for all segments including new donors, and sustainers. Analyze donor behavior trends and identify new diverse funding strategies
Manage and supervise the efforts of the Development Officers and Donor Relations team focusing on growing and cultivating lasting relationships with donors. Meet with donors and supporters as needed to grow and cultivate strong relationships
Grow all donor segments including current donors, new donors, sustainers, planned giving prospects
Oversee and grow the grant program including research, proposal writing, impact data and reporting requirements
Supervise planned giving program with a focus on complex and deferred gifts
Work with development officers to secure underwriting for special fundraising events and matching gifts programs
Collaboration with Marketing Team
Working closely with the Joni and Friends Marketing team, the director will speak into donor cultivation strategies surrounding automated communication and engagements, including donor portals and automated email communications
Work closely with the Direct Response marketing team on ministry appeals and acquisition tools
Work closely with Marketing team to drive new sustainer revenue and cultivation efforts
Cultivate a Ministry of Development Culture at Joni and Friends
Act as an enthusiastic Ambassador throughout the organization and with field teams promoting a ministry of development culture
Be an outspoken advocate for supporting the organization within the community and with field teams around the country
Integration with Special Events, Data Analytics and Area Ministry team members
Integration with Data Analytics and Accounting team in database management, gift processing and batching, acknowledgments and other processes looking for efficiencies and regulation compliance. Ensure ethical compliance to the companies gift related policies and procedures following strict donor confidentiality and security protocols
Integrate with Special Events and Major Gifts teams on yearly fundraising events maximizing ROI at each event
Integrate and mentor field fundraising professionals both staff and volunteer efforts to ensure consistency of ethical fundraising practices
Other duties and projects as assigned by the Supervisor to support department and organizational needs
Qualifications
Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
Bachelor’s degree required and 5+ years managing donor development
Good interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to effectively organize and prioritize a wide range of daily tasks with varied deadlines are necessary
Must be detail oriented, committed to accuracy, a team player and self-starter who is flexible and able to work independently
Must have a strong sense of confidentiality
Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet
Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable
Compensation for this position is $110,000 to $120,000 per year. This is a hybrid position in the Agoura Hills office (Mon, Tues, Thurs in office, Wed, Fri remote).
