THE ROLE
We're looking for a Director of Category Management & Shopper Insights supporting our Walmart customer account. This strategic leadership role will see you build and support a high-functioning team that builds the end-to-end sell-in and execution of insights and solutions to accelerate category growth in Beauty. The Director will do this by collaboratively planning and executing with cross functional resources at multiple senior-levels internally and externally. Reporting to the Vice President of Trade Marketing, you will get to work across multiple aspects of the category business, leading a team & interfacing directly with Walmart merchant leadership to create and execute strategies that support Walmart's strategy and drive category growth and market share.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will be responsible for:
Leading & developing a team who are responsible for strategic development, analytics, and modular execution across segments within Beauty Lead continuous improvement of existing captaincy relationships with merchant & merchant leadership teams at Walmart Partnering cross-functionally with both internal and external teams implement Walmart's merchandising vision, automate modular processes, and deliver comprehensive development and measurement of category initiatives Collaborate with Coty Global insights to identify market trends that drive category growth opportunities at Walmart Lead cross-functional peers and your team to deliver thought leadership and accelerated category growth through robust category business planning Key point of contact for merchant leadership with daily interactions Industry, category, and retailer expertise on all aspects of the market Lead & coordinate market research as needed to identify category growth opportunities that support or enhance Walmart's strategic initiatives Utilize multiple data sources to develop comprehensive go-to-market category strategies, spanning across product, placement, price, and promotion Continually identify creative and improved methods and approaches of category management, which will lead to sustainable category growth and better business relationships Use your category expertise, intellect, and proactive communication skills to influence key stakeholders internally and externally to move category-driving agendas forward
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Essential:
8+ years Category Management experience, Beauty preferred Bachelor's degree or MBA preferred Successful people leadership and track record of developing talent Experience with multiple data sources (Nielsen, IRI, Retail Link, Luminate, Atlas, Kantar, Mintel) Ability to utilize both internal and syndicated data systems and access, interpret and draw accurate conclusions to make the case for a plan of action or decision Ability to utilize the analysis of a variety of sources of data to develop solid, actionable recommendations that address specific goals/objectives and tell the business story Demonstrates an ability to create fact-based presentation to translate sales data to achieve objectives in line with the customer strategy Prior experience with JDA Space Planning is preferred Proficient usage of Microsoft Office Prior experience working closely with Walmart merchants to implement the modular tactics Developing collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams Demonstrates self-motivation, adaptability, cooperation, and trust Possesses ability to positively influence others
