Location: This is a hybrid position based in East Hanover, NJ with expectations of in-office time minimum twice a week.
Position Objectives & Primary Responsibilities
Be a key member of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team providing forecast guidance and be the voice of BI & Analytics teams on various Clif Bar forums.
Lead and deliver monthly Category and Brand Consumption Forecast inputs to Demand Planning team and estimating Brand and Portfolio share each month.
Present and explain drivers of Category forecast to Clif Bar's Leadership Team (CBLT) and IBP team in the context of macroeconomic trends and other business intelligence.
Hold both the responsibility and strategic vision identify and experiment with new technology to ensure the business is equipped with data and tools to make quick and accurate decisions, have access to business performance, and research opportunities to drive increased effectiveness & efficiency using new technologies.
Consulting & Advisory – Leverage CPG expertise to support commercial strategies. Integrate internal and external data into insights in areas of pricing, promotion, marketing, premiumization, and incrementality (macro trends, forces, etc.) by using consumption (POS) and household panel-based metrics.
Collaborate with multiple cross-functional partners including Revenue Growth Management, Brand, Insights, Finance, Sales, and external data partners.
Business Intelligence – Lead Business intelligence priorities and best practices for Clif. Develop and deploy value driven data strategy to maximize insights from current syndicated data. Lead and support competitive intelligence activities to ensure alignment of key threats, milestones, assumptions, and planning activities across all functions within the company. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data and deliverables
What you will bring
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in:
Bachelor's degree in business, science or related quantitative field or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree in statistics or econometrics preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience working in Analytics in the CPG industry required, previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
Demonstrated technical capabilities to include deep knowledge of statistical techniques (regression modeling, ML, clustering), experience with cleaning and harmonizing data, programming (R and/or Python). Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
Experience working in other areas of Analytics like MMM, Pricing etc a plus.
Experience with Circana (formerly IRI) or Nielsen consumption and household panel data necessary.
Ability to creatively think about different problems and devise pragmatic solutions to develop data into actionable information.
Exceptional persuasive written/verbal communication and presentation skills. Willingness to present the facts and put forth hypothesis in the face of differing opinions. Previous experience presenting to C-suite is a plus.
Ability to adjust to changing needs within the organization and flexibility to change priorities as needed.
