Here, you will make an impact by:Provide advice and counsel to the global division IP counsel team on IP related matter, including IP focused transactionsResponsible for the patent docket of 300-600 cases, leveraging SpinCos cost aligned service provideManage division IP counsel global IP litigation matters in collaboration with SpinCos Litigation team and with input from the Chief IP CounselResponsible for the protection of trade secret processes globallyYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:JD (Juris Doctor) in country of practice (completed and verified prior to start)Licensed attorney in a US state or otherwise admitted to practice in the United States and must be licensed before the United States Patent and Trademark OfficeTen (10) years of experience with patent and trademark processes in a private, public, government, or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Admitted to practice in Minnesota or eligible for admission within six (6) months of employmentBachelors degree or higher in a technical area, including materials science and digital science (completed and verified prior to start)Business acumen and an ability to provide legal and compliance advice in the context of strategic business initiatives and goalsHighly effective written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to communicate and relate at all levels of the organization including business line leaders, regional heads, and senior managementResults-orientated approach; personal and organizational accountability; and a collegial work styleHigh energy and a dedication to responsive client serviceFor current employees, internal transfer restrictions may not apply.
