The Department of Medical Student Education has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Director, Admissions to work in Miami, Fl. The Director, Admissions oversees student admissions policies and practices and reviews department operations to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Further, the Director, Admissions works with faculty and staff to recruit and admit exceptional students to assigned program(s) to further the University’s mission and goals. Additionally, the incumbent leads the development and implementation of short- and long-term goals for recruitment and admission processes.
Develops a strategic recruiting plan to increase the quantity and quality of applicants in each respective program.
Assesses market trends and conducts external benchmarking.
Defines guidelines and criteria for student admission to applicable programs.
Identifies ways to improve and streamline the recruiting and admissions process.
Reviews and evaluates applicant files and conducts interviews.
Analyzes and interprets data for internal use to ensure departmental goals are being achieved.
Works with other departments to ensure that marketing strategies and campaigns align with recruitment needs.
Assists in identifying potential markets for program expansion.
Administers departmental budget and ensures funds are being expended appropriately.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, (Master's degree in higher education administration, healthcare management, or a related field is preferred).
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
Strong knowledge of admissions processes, accreditation standards, and ethical guidelines; medical school admissions experience is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, networking, and verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and a commitment to data-driven decision-making.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Understanding of diversity and inclusion practices in higher education.
Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and compliance.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
The Miller School of Medicine’s (MSOM) Director of Admissions is responsible for promoting and executing the admissions process for the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and joint/dual degree programs. This role reports to the Associate Dean of Admissions and the Director of MSOM Student Records, Registration, and Enrollment. The Director of Admissions is responsible for developing admission procedures and replicable and efficient systems and processes. This key leadership position is responsible for overseeing the admissions process, ensuring the recruitment of highly qualified and diverse medical school candidates, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. The Director of Admissions will collaborate with various stakeholders to create and implement a strategic admissions plan that aligns with the medical school's mission and values.
