The Director of Instructional Design will be responsible for the management and oversight of the Instructional Design team for the Fox School of Business and Sport Tourism and Hospitality Management, including all courses, projects, and workshops for the entire unit. Reporting to the Senior Vice Dean and working closely with the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and senior leadership, they will work with faculty to collaboratively plan, design, develop and revise online course materials for graduate and undergraduate courses in the Fox School and STHM. They will act as the main point person for the Fox School with the university online learning team to provide documentation three times a year for continued SARA Authorization for Fox programs and will track all data needed including syllabi, faculty training and development, and work with academic directors on yearly course reviews. They will ensure the development of courses that meet quality and faculty standards while producing instructional, interactive materials that will be synchronized with high-quality video content. They will be responsible for working with the Dean's Office on the scheduling of online classes. They will co-Chair the online faculty redesign committee and serve on university online and ADA compliance committees. They will oversee the development of training materials including self-help documents, online tutorials, the online teaching certificate, and other multimedia materials to assist both faculty and students with the use of course management tools and other technologies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:*Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of directly related experience in a higher education or corporate learning environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:*Experience with online learning teams in higher education.*Highly proficient with technology.*Demonstrated proficiency with web conferencing technologies, Zoom strongly preferred.*Deep knowledge of current asynchronous and synchronous learning technologies.*Familiarity with instructional design tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate, Photoshop, Video Editing software, and principles of web development and other related software.*Knowledge of instructional video production, resources, and multi-media projects.*Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects.*Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.*Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal) with the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team of faculty, staff, and administrators.*Must be able to think critically, analyze data and communicate effectively verbally and in written communication.*Strong working knowledge of technology, distance education, learning management systems, and project management.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
