ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
I. Proper functioning of the Kitchen and Dining Room (including but not limited to proper table set up, punctual opening of dining room, checking menu with cooks prior to each meal, quality control of meals, briefing and assisting wait staff, as well as assuming wait staff responsibilities when short staffed)
II. Resident Care (including but not limited to greeting and answering resident questions, reporting missing residents daily, learning residents' names to greet them personally, listen and communicate all resident concerns accordingly, maintain HIPPA regulations)
III. Supervision of Personnel (including but not limited to ability to think on your feet and problem solving, checking for staff uniform compliance and overall neat appearance, focus on wait staff service to residents, assist wait staff with any problem, performance issues and document accordingly, scheduling of wait staff and handling absenteeism issues)
IV. Coordination (including but not limited to coordinating with host/hostess, communicating with kitchen staff regarding food discrepancies, as well as communicating with management regarding any issues)
V. Catering Functions (including but not limited to communicating with staff regarding any extra guests for lunch and dinner, assisting with setting up additional place settings/set up for special functions, coordinating special events)
VI. Safety & Sanitation (including but not limited to attending all mandatory meetings and communicating pertinent information to servers, requiring all personnel to follow safety procedures, ensuring maintenance and cleanliness of dining room before and after meal services, maintaining ServSafe certification every 3 years)
VII. Is aware of Presbyterian Homes Corporate Compliance policies, including those having to do with confidentiality and security of information, and concern for the well-being of residents and patients. Demonstrates behaviors and completes work in a manner consistent with these policies.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, 1–3 years experience (customer service and/or hospitality experience preferred; supervisory experience a plus). Must be able to read and speak English as well as perform basic math skills.
