TEKsystems is partnering with a client in the northern suburbs in search of a Sr Product Owner.

　　This is a hybrid position, qualified candidates are encouraged to apply based on job details below. Must work W2.

　　As PO, this person is responsible for writing user stories that align to the prioritized features and ensure the pipeline stays full and is prioritized. The PO should be internally focused on the agile team and implementation. The PO has a significant role in quality and is the only team member empowered to accept user stories as done. The PO will also work with the Product Manager to prepare for the Program Increment planning meeting and working with Business Initiative owners and SMEs on a daily basis.

　　KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

　　Backlog and Prioritization of User Stories

　　Runs daily scrum calls, builds and reviews backlog.

　　Builds product backlog, prioritize its items to achieve Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and continuously keep it up to date.

　　Participates mandatory forums such as Sprint planning retro, PO/PM Sync, daily stand up etc.

　　Develops features in collaboration with Product Manager. Holds meetings with the product team to continuously update product backlog.

　　Interacts and collaborates with User Experience Insights stakeholders on key product considerations and aligns with product vision, features, and roadmap.

　　Leverages customer insights, feedback, compliance, and risk data to define product features and roadmap in partnership with other SMEs.

　　Works with product teams to build functionality / integrations that will improve User Experience Insights & VOC stakeholder and consumer experience.

　　Prioritizes user stories and feature enhancements in terms of User Experience Insight toolset / capabilities.

　　Communicates with User Experience Insights / VOC peers to ideate and align on priorities.

　　Creates and validate user story acceptance criteria. Inspect and evaluate product progress through each sprint iteration.

　　Owns definition of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and features/user stories for delivery product roadmap; in-line with the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) of the greater product vision outlined by SPO and/or Business Director is the final decision maker for product scope.

　　Empowered to make all critical decisions regarding functionality and priority in the sprint. Ensures that user stories meet Definition of Ready (DoR). Provide sign off to Accept each user story during sprint. Identifies.

　　Functional and non-functional requirements

　　Responsible for completing the Requirements Control gate forms during Release Planning stages and responsible for engaging teams such as Security, ARB, Legal, etc. for review and approval.

　　Defines functional and non-functional product requirements; Identifies and defines key non-functional requirements (e.g., security, availability, performance, etc.) to achieve necessary product metrics.

　　Ensures product features and processes align with applicable Discover compliance and risk management standards. Ensures product adheres to the highest quality standards, including releasing security patches not linked to customers.

　　Works with Data stewards in their respective LOBs to ensure required Data quality controls are identified and implemented.

　　Team Management

　　Protects the team from distractions like non-sprint work and minimizes changes committed user stories.

　　Being able to focus on vision and manage conflict to achieve vision.

　　Capable to adapt to different personality types and work with both analytical and technical teams.

　　Product Documentation and Status Updates

　　Creates and/or maintains key product documentation (e.g., customer journey map, technical specs, process mapping, etc.).

　　Provides periodic status updates to business stakeholders and upper management.

　　Minimum Skills:

　　Bachelors Degree Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or other related fields.

　　3+ years of experience in a product owner role.

　　Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills to high levels of management

　　Rich knowledge and experience in Agile and Scrum Prioritization skills in Agile environment.

　　Being able to focus on vision and manage conflict to achieve vision.

　　Desired Skills:

　　Advanced/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or other related fields. MBA is a plus.

　　5+ years of experience in a product owner role.

　　Experience in architect Experience in Software development environment in Digital Organizations.

　　Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or other technical fields.
