As a Product Manager in the Commercial Bank's Digital, Data and Product (DDP) Solutioning team, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Job responsibilities
Develop a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
Manage discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
Own, maintain, and develop a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
Build the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the Commercial Bank (CB) and Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) to align on roadmap prioritization and technology approach
Analyze business requirements, user needs, and understand partner systems in order to draft user stories and business requirements documents (BRDs) as well spearhead workstreams with support from senior team members, including owning end to end deliverables, creating work plans, and managing deadlines and expectations
Manage scrum teams and related scrum ceremonies, backlog creation and depth analysis
Partner with key leaders of would-be impacted users for review, approval of technology solutions and process changes
Collaborate with design teams and SMEs to use a design-thinking methodology to co-create the target state client and internal commercial banking experience (incl. op. model, capabilities, business architecture, etc.); responsible for translating design into discrete and well scoped initiatives with robust business cases and KPIs to track impact , and drive the agile release approach, including discovery, design and user research
Research and apply an understanding of innovation in financial services and emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning, blockchain, robotics process automation) to reimagine the future of commercial banking
Prepare decks, design materials, and prototypes to share with clients, team leadership, senior management, and executive leadership - including presentations, executive summaries, proof of concept (POC) / minimal viable product (MVP) demos, and KPI progress updates
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
Bachelor's degree from a top tier program required; MBA or related Masters Degree is a plus
Ability to write effective business requirements documents (BRD) and user stories that are development ready
Demonstrated experience orchestrating and influencing collaboration across multiple teams and roles (e.g., Product owners, business sponsors, subject matter experts, experience designers, testers, software development teams, etc.) towards building a cohesive, customer-focused product backlog
Understanding and knowledge of design and software development processes, with exposure to agile
Understand basic technology concepts (APIs, User Acceptance Testing, entitlements/credentials, etc.)
Experience developing, tracking and measuring OKRs and outcomes
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to synthesize ambiguous customer needs into clear product requirements
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
Prior experience at a top-tier tech firm, fintech, or startup in product management or business analysis for a software development product or financial services is
Previous experience and proven success with digital transformation implementations (journey design, prototyping to scale), and tech innovation initiatives with a strong interest in operating model design and / or business strategy
