Overall responsibilitiesThe role is to provide engineering support for manufacturing operations basedwithin medical device manufacturing value streams. The role requires technicalownership for a number of processes involving cleanroom packaging and machinesystem integrations, as well as HSE, Quality, Supply and Cost. The rolewill involve a focus on process stability including data analysis, equipmentand process validations, CAPA ownership, and executing CIP projects. Asprocess owner, the role will involve collaborating with many functionalgroups delivering projects in the value stream such as automation,planning, operations, logistics, quality engineering, and supplierquality as well as with external suppliers and other sister sites runningsimil2. Position duties and responsibilitiesGeneralSupport attainment of key business metrics through engineering support forvalue stream processes.Elimination of safety and quality risks in the process through the delivery ofrobust engineering solutions.Manage costs through the reduction of scrap, reprocessing, and consumables.Design & develop tools, fixtures, gauges and special equipment formanufacturing operations in conjunction with on-site toolroom teams andoutside vendors.Develop stable and capable manufacturing processes through a structuredprocess development approach.Preparation of all relevant manufacturing specifications.HS&EActively promote a safety culture.Manage contractors / vendors working on site to ensure full compliance withsite safety requirements.Ensure production equipment meets all relevant national and Jabil Health,Safety and Environment requirements through completion of required assessmentsand documentation.QualityCompetent in validation requirements for new consumables / materials andprocess changes.Updates and maintenance of manufacturing specifications for process steps.Ensure timely closure of quality actions such as Audit Actions, NCRs, CAPAs.Ensure all process development, validation, etc. is managed in accordancewith the Quality management system.SupplySupport day to day operations through attendance at Gemba walks and the timelyclosure of actions.Root Cause Analysis and implementation of robust solutions to supply andquality issues as they arise through tools such as 8D and Six Sigma.Project Management - provide timely and accurate reporting on projectactivities ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timelines.CostManage the consumables budget for the assigned value stream identifyingopportunities for cost reduction and managing the delivery of savings.Lead scrap reduction within the value stream through a structured approach todata capture, analysis and problem solving.Identify and lead cost and technical improvements under the departmentscontinuous improvement program.Provide process input into the value stream mapping process which is used todevelop the business plan for the value stream.Determine equipment layouts for manufacturing cells using Lean Manufacturingtool as identified.PeopleActively interface with cross-functional team members, always practicinggood team work in support of day to day operating and project requirements.Demonstrate strong leadership and a clear identifiable work ethos within theEngineer ng team.Develop and maintain a Credo & Behavioral Standards based culture within theEngineering team.StrategicWork with Team Lead and/or Manager to develop and implement strategicengineering Goals & Objectives.Support the implementation of all engineering and plant strategic initiatives.3. Job profileEducation Requirements:Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering / Science discipline or equivalentEssential Experience:2+ years in regulated industries in regulated industry (FDA, ISO,etc.) manufacturing3-5 years experience in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or closelyrelated field.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to make effective decisions.Demonstrated ability to understand technical issues and provide practical andcost-effective engineering solutions.Demonstrated ability to lead significant projects to completion, on time andwithin budget.Strong Microsoft Excel skills, proficient in ERP data retrieval and analysis.Desirable Experience:Participant in PLC programming, equipment and process automation.Experience with Cleanlines or Packaging.Certification in Six Sigma or Statistical EngineeringInterpersonal skills / characteristics (if applicable):Ability to manage multiple assignments or projects with sound analytical,troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Flexible work ethic.Strong influencing skills.
