About The OpportunityAssist and support the Offset Operator inkeeping the equipment running efficiently. The Second Pressman will betrained to operate the press to fill in the role of an operator asbusiness dictates. They will be responsible for producing packagingproducts according to customer specifications. The following duties arenormal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of theseduties; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Otherduties may be assigned. Demonstrate commitment to safety and performsjob duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherenceto GMP guidelines. Should be aware of their responsibilities and theiraccountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with productsafety, legality, and quality systems. Understand job ticket informationto determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions,and any other special customer requirements. Assist with the make-readyand operation of the offset printing press. Set up the press feeder andkeep it running properly. Install the proper inks in the correct pressunits and maintains their levels during the press run. Maintain thefountain solution levels. Stage stock in preparation to run jobs. Mustbe qualified to operate Toppy skid turner. Set up the coating unit withthe proper coating. Adjust press throughout the run to maintain positionand registration. Clean and gum the plates after the press run. Assistwith the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers. Perform otherduties as assigned by the pressman. Ability to act as a backup PressOperator in all functions of the Press Operator position. Assist withdecisions regarding the quality of finished product. Complete requiredquality inspections and paperwork. Work with peers and other departmentsto improve quality and performance.
