The Hardware Manager will be responsible for overseeing and being involved with FPGA Development projects and associated hardware development needed to support the requirements of company products. Additionally, maintenance or enhancement of existing hardware may be required, based on new requirements, unavailable components, or adaptation for use on other projects. This role will be overseeing a team of 6-7 FPGA Hardware Engineers to work on various cutting edge programs supporting the Navy, NASA and more!
Job Responsibilities:
Lead hardware development in support of the FPGA development group. Should be familiar with current FPGA designs in use in company products and collaborate with key resource, leveraging existing FPGA design work when possible.
Lead hardware development in support of the FPGA development
Work with others to develop system architecture diagrams to ensure adequate information is available when starting the project
Lead the team through the process of understanding the requirements, creating additional diagrams as needed to support the development cycle
Manage FPGA development utilizing Xilinx products and development tools
Maintenance or enhancement of existing hardware may be required, based on new requirements, unavailable components, or adaptation for use on other projects
Lead circuit card layout efforts and ensure that the hardware development team can learn the skills needed to work with the layout designer
Encourage team members to ensure all schematic components are available for purchase, and work with procurement as needed to order long-lead items well in advance of need
Ensures open communication with the products on group during development and as needed through test and system implementation
Mentor team members to create circuit cards consistent with company's methodology
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred
Eligible to obtain DOD clearance is REQUIRED for this position
50% Supervisory responsibilities and 50% hands on technical engineering
5+ years of supervisory experience is required
Strong understanding of FPGA development processes and associated hardware development
Strong knowledge in Xilinx products
Lead the group, ensure projects are on task, within budget, workload distributed evenly, every employee on task, hitting goals
Even keel personality, able to motivate the team, ability to adapt to situations.
