The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire aDietitian for the Kiley Developmental Center located in Waukegan,Illinois to interpret nutritional guidelines, standard and specialdietary requirements. Plans and prepares modified diets and menus forKiley Developmental Center. Participates in the habilitation planningprocess. Trains professional and para-professional staff about propernutrition and dietary requirements. Plans menus, conducts on-site mealmonitoring and evaluates the facilities nutritional safety andsanitation policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
1.Interprets nutritional guidelines, standard and special dietaryrequirements.
2.Provides direction to center staff in areas of portion control,modified diet, and sanitation procedures in accordance with PublicHealth Standards.
3.Evaluates individuals for food acceptance and weight changes.
4.Performs quality assurance checks including sanitation, random samplesof meal quality and proper food preparation.
5.Monitors the facility homes for sanitary storage practices.
6.Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonablewithin the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1.Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent tocompletion of four (4) years of college with courses in dietetics..
2.Requires licensure as a dietitian nutritionist by the Department ofFinancial and Professional Regulation.
*This requirement is set forth in the Dietitian Nutritionist PracticeAct (225 ILCS 30).
Conditions of Employment
1.Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends andholidays.
2.Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personalcomputers.
3.Requires the ability to travel.
4.Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
5.Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited fromrecreational use under Illinois Law.
